User Profile Maintenance

Use the"User Profile Selection Window", to further define user security in conjunction with the CMS security system.

You may maintain both individual and group user profiles using this option. Common user profiles are designed for groups of personnel who require identical access.

User Name

Enter one of the following (or click the prompt arrow to select from a list):

a Group user ID - group users (for instance, Support)

an Individual user ID - single user (for instance, bjones)

OK

Click OK to display the "User Profile Detail Maintenance Window".

Common User ID

Enter a common user ID to link an individual user to a common user group.

Initial Menu

Enter the name of the menu that is to display when the user first signs on. If this user is allowed access only to a single menu, that menu name must be entered here.

Mandatory Menu

Y = The user will not be prompted to pass through security with each option selected. Security prompts will only be displayed when the user changes menus.

Note   When the Menu Level Security prompt is set to Y, you should use the Terminal Lock whenever the terminal is left unattended to “Lock” the terminal.

To "Unlock" the terminal, enter your IBM password.

Application Lock Window Allow Fastpath

Y = Allow the user to move throughout the system using the fastpath names of menu options.

N = The user is restricted to entering option numbers to move within the system.

Note   If "Mandatory Menu" is set to Y, this prompt is not applicable.

Allow Command Line

Y = Allow the user to key commands on the command line.

N = The F10 key prompt will not display on screen.

Single/Multiple Lines

S = A single command line is displayed.

M = Multiple command lines are displayed.

Allow Prompt

Y = Allows the user access to the F4=Prompt button, with the entered menu.

N = Use of the F4=Prompt button is not allowed with this menu. However, the user still has access to prompt within the programs accessible from the menu.

Utility Menu/Display Messages

U = When this option is set at U, the F6 key on any main menu will display the Utility Menu (screen) when pressed.

D = When this option is set at D, the F6 key on any main menu will display the user's messages when pressed, without giving the user access to the Utility Menu.

Note   If "Mandatory Menu" is set to Y, this prompt is not applicable.

OK

Click OK to save the user profile.
